Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Basically a 6mm triangular plate behind the footrest hanger and secured with the same two bolts, hole drilled and tapped to take the shift lever pivot shaft with lock nut behind. The horn on the shift shaft is actually two that I welded together (with one of the horns cut off) as I need to bring it out far enough to clear the side stand and spring. There were a couple of other small things that had to be done, I added some weld to the side stand so that it came up 10mm less and didn't hit my new lever and I had to make spacers for the lower two fairing bolts to move it out and prevent it from fouling the linkage.

Woodwork today. Adding a ramp to our dining room so my wife can get in and out with her wheelchair.

Front callipers serviced and new front brake lines installed. One piston on each calliper stiff, and rust between the dust and oil seals, so definitely needed doing. I just need to go for a ride to test them out now ...

Rear cam chain tensioner clattering on the VFR. Time to pop it off and give it a service.

After having a stone make quite an impression on my radiator, I decided prevention was better than cure.
The covers that Admin is selling fit an 04 pointy no problem and look very nice too. http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=225731

Glad it fitted okay. The s/steel is good quality and will keep it's shine.
