What's up with the last pic? I can see a mark or two perhaps.

Wrestling a bit with the shutter for my Certo. I have hardly used the camera so don't know its foibles. Found out on t'internet you don't c'ock the shutter for T or B, unlike later cameras. So anyway if you set it to the top speed of 1/400 (which measures at 1/180) then it will jam the shutter lever if you use the full travel, whether you set the shutter or just select the speed. You can use the speed if you only press the shutter till it clicks. All other speeds are no problem. To unjam it, re-cook the shutter until it lets go but this will open the blades again. Anyway slower speeds are fine, fastest two are running at half speed, probably down to the way the timing mechanism works, different parts come into play at different speed settings. Need to investigate a bit more. Still don't know where the little pin fell out of.

Sorry, not the last pic, it's pic 8 that worries me.

Re: Vintage film cameras

Could have just been jammed on, or could be a Nikon lens - you were going to sell it anyway? You see some funny stuff where people are selling off inherited things.

If it's a Nikon lens, May be interested.
Edit: that's the old Sigma logo on that cap

I've the same cap on another lens. Must be lots of spares around.
I'm hoping its a Nikon cap on a Minolta lens. Would like to try it before selling it just in case. As far as I can work out, it's a Komine and seems favourably reviewed. Don't want to be tempted into buying a Nikon just to test a lens- ... or do I?

I see what you mean now, couldn't see the "made for Nikon" on my tablet screen.

I only saw it after I'd bought ... and it took me a while to see it.
Ah well, see what arrives.

My Comet S arrived today. Wasn't expecting it so fast. Focus ring was stiff so I undid two screws on the front and lifted then lens off.few squirts of brake cleaner and wiping away any residue and its nice and free. Just needs a clean.
