We had some pretty heavy weather down here yesterday and the water filtration/pumping station got flooded and broke down. We were without water for 24 hrs. Lots of flooding all over the county.

Crap! I have covid. Just tested positive. I've obviously had this since Friday.

I was just about to go shopping, running low on a few things. Gonna have to wait till Wednesday now, as I'm not paying home delivery charges.

Well, do you know what Trevor? I'm feeling almost normal again now. I went out for a good 5 mile walk with Mabel this afternoon which made me feel a lot better. I've just had dinner now and aside from a bit of coughing and sneezing, I feel pretty good.

Weather is forecast to be ok tomorrow so I think I might get out on the bike for a few hours.

I'm sad though, that I'm going to miss my friend's funeral and the chance to say some sort of a goodbye.

The advice is to take it easy for a few days after a bout and also after the jab if you trust having it.

I've had four of the jabs RT, but the last one slabbed me out for 2 weeks. It made me feel much, much worse than this bout of covid, so I've not had any more since. I don't ever want to feel that ill again.

The walking makes me feel much better, but I'm going gently at it, rather than my usual rapid pace.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I had some errands to run today and as it was sunny I used the bike. After I got back I checked the chain and oiler to see if it was dispensing enough. No problem with that but my attention was grabbed by a thorn sticking out of the rear tyre. My Karoo tyres have a chunky tread and the thorn was in the channel between blocks. I managed to get most of it out but it was breaking up as I dug around with needle nosed pliers. I don't think it got as far as the tube but we'll see in the next day or so.

That's the downside of exploring small lanes, there's all sorts of detritus to pick up from hedge trimming etc.
