I'm assuming the R/R is still going strong :)

Possibly. The VFR was part ex'd for a new Transalp last June. The shop sold the VFR very quickly but I've not heard since.

I wonder if Kings will sell Hugh as quickly after he went in px last week for Bullseye. He's up on their website now - bafflingly they did not clean him before taking the pics... You'd have thought they'd have wiped the bugs off the screen or cleaned the dirt splashes off the lower paintwork. Ah well.

I learnt that these transactions were all Web based and none of them were "verified by visa". Apparently it's down to the merchant whether they want VbyV probably because its a cost to them.
No idea how my card details were picked up. I suspect it was while we were away and using hotel WiFi.

*Does rapid check of credit card transactions* :smt107:smt107

I'm super wary of this after being caught out in Germany many years ago, when my then wife's card was stolen by deception. By the time I got the next bill through the post it was over £6k when I expected about £400!! Access (remember them?) were very good and had already noted the fraudulent transactions were after when I cancelled my card. Apparently they were letting the card be used so German police could track a gang who were using stolen cards.

The bill was still a massive shock though!

I do remember Access. That was our first credit card too (your flexible friend).

I received an email this evening informing me that my PayPal transaction to buy $524.71 of bitcoin had been flagged by PayPal as an unauthorised transaction and I had to call a number supplied within 12 hours to get the money refunded. I hadn't tried to buy bitcoins.

After checking my PayPal account activity that nothing had been taken, I forwarded the email to their "phishing" dept, I also forwarded it to my bank. PayPal's documentation said that any of their emails will address you by name (or business) whereas this one just said "Dear" with nothing else. I also googled the number supplied (a US phone number) and it didn't match any of the PayPal numbers. I changed my PayPal log pwd just in case but I don't think it was necessary. I have attached the alleged PayPal missive.

It raised my blood pressure for a while.

Flip is it cold here today! I heard the familiar whiring of the water pump in the airing cupboard this afternoon so the heating tried to come on. I say tried, as we have no gas at the moment. Cadent has shut down the whole road while they put in a liner to the mains pipes. It's gone 19:30 and they're still out there so fingers crossed we get it back later today.
