doesn't really take a rocket scientist to work that one out

No it doesn't. It's a very very infrequent offence all over the country. Paranoia again.

During the day I work in a bike shop so I meet all sorts of folk who ride bikes every day, when I get out of work just about all my friends ride bikes and they are from all over the country. I was travelling this area for years as a sales rep in the bike trade and only a couple of times did I hear of a bike having false plates. Whoever told you it's a common thing was lying or you're just making that one up.

I'll ask the coppers who post here what their view is, I'm sure they'd agree with me on this one.

You're unnecessarily paranoid about something that happens so infrequently it's not worth trying to avoid. Your plate is on full view for every criminal in the country to see every time you take the bike out of the garage

Ringing's happened up here but not for a good few years.

I aint got no issue with posting a plate on a forum (mine is up here in other threads). I can also account for where my bike is at all times.
Also if the police came knocking, i know of at 5 other bright yellow curvies within 5 miles of me, and one is owned by a friend

Choo choo !! Massive derail :smt102

I personally don't care about showing my number plate, can't go through life worrying about everything, but I've got a trumpet on a suzuki forum :smug: lol

Btw, Gav, you're awesome :)

You have missed the point by a country mile, sir. I wasn't trying to prove how awesome I am because that's an internationally accepted fact and goes without saying :-), I was merely proving a point - that being your number plate is not a secret and can be found quite simply regardless of how much effort you personally put into obscuring it.

Maria didn't blur the photo, and rightly so. That means your plate was out there to be seen and photographed by her in just the same way that anyone else can take a photo of your bike anywhere in the country. You can't keep things like registration plates from being seen by the general public, to blur out the plate in the odd photo you post in order to deter one possible criminal mind is like trying to mop up a tsunami with a dishcloth, in short it's absolutely pointless. Any one of thousands of people including the criminal element of society can see it and use it every time you ride the bike, so you're simply wasting your time sitting there blurring it out.

Btw, your Thunderace tax runs out on April fools day. There's photos of that number on here as well

Re: Your first car

no your missing the point . my plates is only up on here through other people, if i hadn't been on an org ride out and the pics on here only being mine then no one on here would know my plate yet your argument is that people are wasting there time doing it

heres my car, now tell me what the reg details are on that? http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...g?t=1311013515

that is the argument. its doesn't bother me its just something i have always done, my SV, me and the number plate is in clear view on google earth

anyway back on topic, hate for YET ANOTHER thread to be hijacked and derailed

it is, bar some grammar mistakes.... maybe your ego is getting in the way of you being able to read it? or the fact you've been proved wrong... again

or maybe your just building up to giving us yet another paragraph from "the life and times of lozzo"?
