Re: Recommend me a trackday tyre
What I mean is 1 or 2 full heat cycles (depending if you switch them off for lunch) v 7 if you do each session.
Yes you may get held up getting out etc but your tyres won't go cold in that time like they do between sessions Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk |
Re: Recommend me a trackday tyre
I'd forgotten about this thread! Thanks all for the responses :)
I'm more or less decided on Bridgestone S21's. Not the ultimate sports tyre perhaps but sporty inclined, work wet and dry, and no tyre warmers needed (it's a track day, I can afford to wait a lap or two to warm them!). First outing I'll probably keep the old BT023s on just for a run around and to give the oil a good flush. I'm in the slow group so no pressure (Rocki 8 May, say hello if you're there). Once I've blown out the cobwebs, put synthetic oil in and changed the tyres the world's my lobster :) https://s26.postimg.org/ie9blh3ll/20180315_141536_1.jpg |
Re: Recommend me a trackday tyre
I've been using Bridgestone 016/014s and now S20, they're easily sticky enough and warm up in just a lap. With the 016 the handlebars would start to rumble just before the gear lever touched down, as you got right onto the edge of the front tyre; since putting the S20 on the front I've only been to fast tracks so not really tried that again.
