what actually is a 3/4 system as i have no idea what one is?

On the SV, it's usually an end can, a collector box and a rear header. You reuse your front header. Quite expensive for very little gain, usually. I wouldn't, personally.

I got a CCC can at christmas, and I'd really recommend them to anyone. I wouldn't worry about cutting your exhaust. I was really nervous about it myself, as I am most definately NOT a good mechanic, but it was really really easy. The instructions came with the can, and to be honest they were simple (a sketched diagram on an A4 sheet) but they don't need to be hard. Ie, cut HERE.
Slip your new link pipe over, then slide in your new exhaust and bolt it on. Dead simple. :) |

Thats unless you buy a CCC high level system and it doesnt fit ( they based the link pipe and hanger bracket on the K3 which is no good for K4 - K6 ). Still they seem fairly keen to sort out the problem....... Have a peek in the goodies section mate and listen to a few soundclips to help make up your mind |
Still toying over whether to buy a new can or leave my bike standard so I can get more for it when I sale or px for an IL4 supersports in a year.
My experience of V-Twins so far is that of the standard can i.e. rubbish. Indeed my old Bandit with the standard can blew it away on the sound front. Anyone got any decent sound clips of aftermarket cans - preferably legal ones? Edit: Silly me, just found loads of clips on the main part of the site. Still if anyone has more especially ride pasts I'd like to hear them. |
