Stupid question but can these be used for my chain, lock etc? Or am I being dumb?

Picking up new bike tomorrow - complete novice (passed my test Tuesday) so sorry for the stupid questions!

If you are using a chain/lock and thats it, i would personally go for a tankbag or tailpack as theyre quite heavy and really you want the mass centred on the bike rather than just at one side. Look at the red tailpack as they exceptional value for money

Tim how did you get on with them as Ive noticed you've just used a tailpack in the last run?

They're fine, just a little bulky for filtering, and I think the bike handles a touch better with a tail pack vs panniers, and a tail pack is more aerodynamic so faster ;) As I mentioned before they'll cruise at 110 mph on the german autobahns and the bike can still be riddden in a spirited manner.

Ok cheers. Mainly going to be using the bike for commuting so just want somewhere to stick my bike cover, chain / lock and then lunch really!

Will see how I get on with rucksack first then go from there. Will probably end up getting a tank bag in the end though

Cheers for the advice

Re: Oxford Sports Panniers going cheap

I bought a set last night but not sure if I want them now! (Platinum panniers that is). I forgot that they also do a humpback range (which seem more like what I was after) as theyre a bit smaller (I dont need luggage for Pillion)

Anyone got a set of platinum humpbacks and looking to go for something a little bigger?
