But thanks to the nanny state, I dont dare carry any of them outside of the house.

I love them. Best multitools by a country mile and vastly more robust than swiss army knives. I often carry mine on my belt when I'm doing DIY (so it's always to hand if you're up a ladder, etc.) and have never had a problem when out in public with it. I figure if I'm in paint covered jeans and an old jumper, wearing workboots and with knee pads on, it'd be a bit of a stretch for them to try and get a court to consider it was being carried as a weapon, rather than a tool. I'm even tempted to get one to replace the cheap imitation one that currently resides under the seat of my bike. Surprisingly useful number of tools in something that takes up so little room.

They're too useful to get embroiled in this nanny-state nonsense over.;)

To be honest both are equal in quality and build and i take either one away on exercise.

I bought some bits from yanky land last week and didn't pay a penny of tax, and it wasn't marked as a gift or anything.

Liz says not to bother, Boff has a spare one that she says you'll be able to have.

Oh and this really is Fizz this time. :D

Up to 3 inches of cutting edge is totally legal in a folding knife, but I think the Wave is slightly too big, could be wrong... It was designed to work with a bigger blade. My old leatherman is legal though. You can, if you've got a blade that's too large, grind the cutting edge off the hilt end to reduce the cutting length and make it legal easily enough, my big opinel is cut like this and I was carrying it when I, er, got arrested :smt075
