As the SV, (both sizes), is a modern bike with engine and frame specifically produced to fit together neatly, engine swaps are not as straightforward as they once were, when tube cradle frames were the order of the day engine plates could be made quite easily as these were usually just sheet steel. That said there are one or two curvies with TL motors fitted, which is almost exactly the same deal, it's far, far from a straight swap though. Of course anything can be made to fit - how much fabrication and welding work would you like to do? |

Loads of things can be doen to the Curvy SV (see signature below), what mods have you done so far???

Re: sv1000 engine
First, throw away the K&N, it's rubbish... TBH that'd bother me slightly, it's very odd to go to the effort of doing headwork and combining it with such a poor choice of filter (I'm assuming you didn't do it!)
But still, unless you go mental you can't really make the SV feel massively different- with the levels of extra power you can put on a stock bottom end, you'll just get used to it. Mine has around 80bhp and a nice fat power curve but I've never once thought "Ooh, you can really feel the extra bhp" except when jumping on and off a standard SV. Day to day you just take it for granted. Tuning an SV is not, generally, a very good idea ;) Though obviously do as I saw, not as I do (he said, clutching his hayabusa pistons and head gasket set) |

As for the inferior brakes and suspenders, how does ZXR400(SP) USD front forks running Harrsion 6 Pot Billet calipers and an EMC rear shock sound? Depending on engine your looking at 124+ bhp in a 180kg frame. Admittedly by modern standards that isn't much on paper, but consider the fact that the NC23 is a physically small bike its got to be worth a laugh. I'm not sure if I can do this, I have only heard about it so am yet to find the exact details. But its something that would be nice to try, a popular mod to the NC23 is to stick a CBR600 lump in the frame which as this is known would make it easier... |

A mod i heard about was sticking an Africa Twin engine into a Bros 400 frame. Apparently is an almost exact fit that could be an interesting bike to ride |
