Bear in mind he's already got an engine with a known good 'box.

What's up with your engine chakraist?

Been looking through the feedback for the second engine, no record of feedback for the first sell in the past 90 days so you can't ask the previous buyer what was wrong but I have noticed that the seller comes across as a bit of an arrogant and obnoxious pr*ck!

Ah, it's Salton Spares, I didn't notice that... They've been kicked from Ebay once before, but I think it was for nonpayment of fees rather than complaints (I got my blade disc off them, they were very good, but they got kicked off just after and didn't reappear for a while).

Front cylinder is seized completely, initially it sounded like a CCT issue with rattling but then started cutting out, loss of power, sounding like a bag of spanners and crap, garage picked it up to test the CCTs (my hands and tools are inadequate for this, tried the front one, seemed fine to me but I know nothing) - told me it'd be £300 at least to strip the engine and find the problem, just to start the work. So I figured getting a new one would be cheaper in the long run. The current engine won't turn over at all.

Well start stripping it then :-P

What's the worst that could happen, it's knackered anyway.

If one of the cylinders has siezed then I've got a complete top end you could chuck onto it for minimal cost.

Cheers, I'll definitely give it a go. I don't have a paddock stand or many tools though, I've already taken the rear end off, tank off, next thing is carbs out I guess, drain oil, disconnect clutch... hmm, I'll go check the manual!

You don't need a paddock stand.

Next step is exhaust off which can be awkward if the studs don't wanna play. You've got an advantage though... if it is the CCT or the camchain itself then at least one top end will be FUBAR.

Exhaust off. Carbs loose (you can leave everything connected just pop them off the inlets) Rad pipes off. Electrics disconnected, clutch cable out.

Then start cracking the mounting bolts off, get a jack under the lump, remove all the bolts except the bottom-rear one, pivot the lump down then get it out.

Oh yeah drain the oil before you start.

And get a friend round when you're read to drop the lump out...
