Re: Heel plate getting mashed
Thats why I only buy boots that dont have any external ankle armour.
I tend to stick Alpinestars boots as they all tend to have material only on the inside of them with the armour not exposed so it cant mash your heel plates up. |
Re: Heel plate getting mashed
Fizz, you prefer to lose a bit of ankle protection to keep your heel plates looking 'nice and dandy' :-? ;)

If you do get new ones you could always try sticking some clear acetate to them, then peeling and reapplying when it gets worn.

Re: Heel plate getting mashed
OK - I realise that's what they're there for and I also realise that my boots are doing the damage....my point was, why do a lot of the pics on here have nice shiny heel plates?
I've only done just over 1k miles :( I wasn't bothered until I realised everyone elses looked all shiny and new (even on those horrible old curvy jelly mould styled bikes :p:p) Anyway...seeing as you went to the trouble of replying, I'll treat you to some more pics of my sexy black pointy ;) Before it gets it's mods (although if you look carefully you can see the Stebel Nautilus air horn fitting snugly in behind the fairing....you should see people jump when I hit the button lol) http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ad/pointy1.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ad/pointy2.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ad/pointy3.jpg Also, the exhaust is a bit scratched too....I got some Autosol but it does kinda take the shine of it (I thought I always used it on my previous bike's exhausts to bring them back to shiny, but doesn't seem to do waht it used to). Any tips for getting it sparkly again? http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...pointypipe.jpg |

Never had a problem with it as far as I know, but I can honestly say I have never even contemplated checking such a thing. Not something that concerns me in the slightest.
