Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident on the A40 at the Denham roundabout on Sunday (27/7).

The two motorcyclists are both people I know from our local bike club, which is strangely packed with serving and retired police officers. Kev, on the KTM is a very lucky man as he narrowly missed being run down, and was then threatened with the axe when he went to help his friend. What the report doesn't mention is that the occupants of the Porsche threatened to axe the young woman's small child up if she didn't hand her car over.

Full marks go to the copper, who survived unscathed after being knocked off his bike into oncoming traffic then run over twice by the Porsche, but still had the guts to chase after the Porsche's occupants on foot after they left the scene in the BMW.

Oakley Motorcycle Club had organised the BikeSafe lessons with the Met police, and these two riders were actually undergoing an observed ride at the time of this incident.

I'll be finding out more about the injured rider's condition at Thursday evening's meet at the club.

I am guessing but it sound like the students were being instructed by the Police Officer as part of a Bike Safe day from the Ace Cafe, on their way back to the venue as its the same route I took when I did mine. This is absolutely shocking - The Bike Safe team at the Ace are a fantastic, experienced and light hearted bunch of people and work in the community to make riding a bike safer.

I hope they get the culprits and arrest them for attempted murder, because that is what is was.

Bike Safe days are brilliant, nothing intense during the classroom sessions (kept short for obvious reasons) and are attended by all manner of bikes, auto and geared. Its only £30 for the day, including lunch made by the Ace with copious amounts of soft drinks, tea and coffee throughout the day. The Police Riders are well respected down there and Sundays is also a big day with numerous events taking place throughout the year - Its not all wheelspinning corsa or scooter riders tearing up the streets, that for the idiots in the evenings.

The big bonus is that with the certificate received, you can get 10% off your insurance, perhaps more.

This is awful, I'm on that road lots. I hope the guy recovers and can ride his bike again soon.

I keep meaning to check out this Ace Cafe, I don't know any other bikers in Ealing.

Total scumbags, sounds like big time crooks who wont let anything get in their way.
I hope that the poor chap in hospital makes a swift recovery.
