I would have thought a Dyno place would be able to sort out a run and then use that to setup the PC III properly... Might not be cheap though, depends how much its out I guess. I'd be ringing around and getting a few quotes and also talk to the chap that set it up in the first place. |

Yes you are right. Dyno centre should be able to set it up right. Not sure how much it might cost. Only cost me £25 for a few dyno run, so at a guess £50? Youd have to ask at your local I guess. |
Re: flat spot?
UPDATE
right, just been out and............... its NOT using more petrol (the fact i was doing silly mph on the motorway sunday made me think it was) the flat spot is between 5000-6000 rpm. if im gentle with the thottle, it seems ok, but if i crank it open, it farts about till it hits 7000rpm, then it wants to rip my arms off, if i keep it over 7000 its aswome. i would think if im doing 3000 revs in 3rd then crank it open, i would expect it to take off. but it doesnt, which is a bit scary when overtaking........ its ok in 1st and 2nd, but anything higher, it does not want to play. so is it the bike, or is it me, expecting to acselerate in a to higher gear |
Re: flat spot?
Passably you?

Re: flat spot?
I would say take it to dyno and get it run there, it's usually 30 quid or less and from that they'll be able to tell you if anything needs adjusting.
Lean mix will give flat spots and hesitation, i.e too high an a/f ratio |

OK I might not know what I'm talking about but, your EXUP or whatever Honda called it being wired open is robbing you of the low down / midrange pull which is why it goes nuts after 7000rpm because its been tuned that way I expect. Id go back to the guy that setup your PCIII and ask him what he suggests try and explain how your ride i.e. you want it pull harder from lower RPM and see what he says. Might worth gearing it down a little as well maybe ? |
Re: flat spot?
Nah nuts to that, you're just covering up the problem them.
Why not fix the EXUP servo? They do actually work.... and also last if they're given a dose of grease and not allowed to get caked in soot (the valve itself) |
Re: flat spot?
i have just removed the airbox flapper .......... so more air will get in
|
Re: flat spot?
So it'll run leaner?
I don't know how it works, is it so it draws under tank at low speed and then closes when ram-air takes effect? If so you've just lost any extra power at 100+ from forced induction. |
