damn. I was going to fit daytona's to my SV when/if i do a handlebar conversion.

In finland, all the snowmobiles are fitted with heated grips as standard and they are brilliant. The heat setting for each grip is independant of each other, so you can have one grip warmer than the other. The heat controllers are on the left side of the handlebar, where you normally find the indicator switch - all built in. Also, they are very thin, so you retain "feel" that you loose with aftermarket bike heated grips (its minimal, but every little helps). I wish manufactures would offer this on all bikes - it'd make a brand new fireblade very appealing to me if honda offered well made heated grips with the heat controller integrated into the switchgear, and retaining the slim grips.

My xofrod heated grips are so far doing well, although I really need to tidy the wiring up.

That's OK, I never listen to you anyway.

Heated gloves is where it's at. :)

I won't be recommending any heated grips until I've got first hand experience and the word of people I trust implicitly.

Rather apposite in my case. I can't feel anything with my left hand since I had a mild stroke 4 years ago, so if the left one packed up I'd never know.
