Why bother? First trip I just grabbed one bungee net, and the oil slipped out from under it.

Then I went home, grabbed two half used oil containers, transferred the oil, then rode home with maybe 8-9 litres strapped under two bungee nets.

Besides, my back was injured years back in an accident, and I'm told it will never heal. The thought of coming off the bike with something reasonably solid attached to me doesn't appeal.

Online order the oil?

I do, mainly as I can't get silkolene {for car} anywhere local, tis next day delivery.

I was going to order an M&P kit with filters et al for something like £30. But then I saw that water condensation from the engine was building up, so it needed sorting ASAP.

Due to the weather & having no-where under cover to work on the bike, it has to be done when possible. That was this morning, until I dropped the oil on the road. Now it's tomorrow, becuase I recovered enough of the oil. :)

I still don't understand the aversion to carrying things on the back of the bike. To me, it's natural to strap something to the back seat & be done with it. It's just that I only took one bungee net with me today at first, so it wasn't properly secure. First time it's happened.

Is this a Bad thing then ? , I have noticed mine has just started doing it and is overdue a service so am thinking of getting 5L of Semi Synthetic from Halfords and new oil/air filter tomorrow from A and D in Denbigh

When it gets to the stage where, in a cold engine, you can see a couple of mm of what looks to be water in the sight glass, yup, it's bad. That's what mine has been like. :(

I'm just going to chuck some cheep semi-synth in tomorrow. Then when I get the chance it's getting plugs/filters/better oil/TPS/TB sync etc etc etc.

Aah mine has a little bit of emulsion , but it`s a tiny amount , gonna just get oil and oil filter tomorrow , was tempted to sling a couple of new plugs in as well for good measure . I changed the air filter in September so will leave that in for a couple more months .
