Spare a thought for those of us whose OHs hate bikes and wish that a large hole would open up and for every bike on earth to disappear into it. Mrs Ed hates bikes and will never get on the back. If she would then I'd buy something a bit more pillion-friendly, maybe a Sprint. She says that Sophie needs at least one parent:rolleyes: S desperately wants to come on the back with me but there's no chance.

Yes, I can never understand why riders don't want to take their OHs as pillions, unless it's for a practical reason like Eds.

I reckon I have ridden less than a thousand miles solo since I've been with Lissa.

A bit of a dramatic stance to take with sombody of your age. I think the first ten years or so after passing the test at 17 are the most dangerous, I would imagine 48 year old bikers getting killed is quite rare, unless it was a situation where the accident was the result of very unfortunate circumstances, but then you can die in those kind of accidents in the car.

Have you asked her to put some faith in your riding and common sense and trust you? When you ride the bike I assume you have no intention of dying yourself, so if you really thought the bike was that dangerous ask her if she thinks you would still be riding it.

My wife loves the bike, but having both of your kiddies parents on one bike doesn't half make you ride carefully! She just doesn't get out as often as she would like 'cos riding together requires a babysitter.

My son will get out on the bike when he's old enough. My wife will be worried sick from the time we leave until the time we return (she gets mildly worried now when I go on my own), but I don't think she will stop him from going, she will put her trust in my riding and my desire to keep my son in one piece.

How old is Sophie?

ditto,
my mrs feels the same as she used to work in A+E so we are all organ donors.
We aint got kids though so cant use that excuse.
I have got a lambretta as well, she dont mind that, she'll get on that no problem as she is closed in.
Too open on the sv, even offered to put some kind of top box on to act as a backrest. no success so far.

Did you go to matlock?
I went there today, seen loads of bikes, few sv's.
Seen a yellow curvy parked up on the shops side about 2 ish.
Even seen some kids on loud monkey type bikes dressed as super heroes, original !!
