Thanks for all the messages of support, please PM me for my mobile number tomorrow (Thursday), maybe we can meet up?

I think I'll do a naked raindance tomorrow evening, try to frighten away those dark clouds...

Just had my first session, I'm so very SLOW! Novice group and no overtaking - my ar5e! Met Lawson and Biggles, cool guys, waiting for lunch to end then 2 more sessions! Weather is cool and cloudy but track is dry :) Will update you later!

As the organisers no doubt said...its not a race, you win nothing for comming first. Glad its a dry track for you all, enjoy and learn as much as you can about smooth lines and your bikes ability is my main aim on a trackday.
:)

Great day -----Nice to meet you Tallguy-----Damp first session but stayed dry for the rest of the day.
Id like to say a big up to Metzeler for putting on this day for free.I will certainly look favourably on them when I replace the tyres if they reward their customers with days at Brands.
Oh and I kept it on the tarmac too.
That despite a slightly awkward brake fade "issue" in the last session.Newre and better pads required I think.

Agreed, had a couple of scary moments at Druids when I thought I was going to run out of track but always managed to just keep it on the tarmac :D I think next time I do a track day, I'll get an instructor to to help me with lines O:)

The only thing I wish was different was the apparent lack of "novices" in my novice group! The rules were "no overtaking on corners, and the overtaking person must not get too close to the person being overtaken" I had two outside and one inside on a couple of occasions, VERY close! - just wish I was more confident & faster, but I expect that I'll be better next time! My sessions were red flagged every time to recover someone, twice on the last session as one unfortunate rider somehow partly destroyed the pit lane chicane right at the end!

Well done to Metzeler for putting this on, and very pleased to meet BB and L17. I've still got quarter of an inch of chicken strips on my tyres, but as Spiderman says, coming first was never the point for me, having fun & staying on track was.
I think if I pushed much harder I would've collected some gravel :help: I reckon I'll probably choose Metzelers when I'm due, would love to try some softer sports tyres but I do mostly motorway riding during the week & would ruin them in no time.

Here's to the next one! :albino:

By the way, the weather stayed dry all day and I then got soaked on the way home from Guildford A31 towards Winchester - but it didn't matter 'cos the TRACK DAY WAS DRY HOOOORAY!

unfortunately this is so often the case and it really gets on my nerves how they just let it go on!

good to hear that you had a good time. i would definately recomend the insturctor thing you mentioned. i did that on my second ever track day at silverstone and had my knee down before i knew without going out there with the intention of doing so!
