Why do you ask for advice then ignore it

was running up and down stairs flapping.
Will listen twice and act once in future.cork was already in when common sense was offered my way.

Too impulsive.
Not too much harm done hopefully.

Another offer of help with the whisky. It would be awful to waste it after all.

You need to buy cheaper plonk, you know, the stuff that has a plastic cork....

Personally I'd have just cleaned up the casing and stuck some gaffer tape over the hole to get me to the dealers. Matter if interest how do you know there is only 1l left in there? That much wouldn't register on the sightglass.....

Last summer i did the same but in my case i had forgotten to put the filler cap back on. Rode 25 miles to a mates house and only noticed my right leg was covered in oil not to mention the back of my bike as well as my tyre!!! Luckykily i had not been on any twisty roads as i had gone straight down A1.

Erm.... easily done..................

Good morning all.

Cheers.

In the heat of the moment, many have succumed to n00b measures to "fix" their bikes.

Just take this as a lesson :D and in the future, either dont bother, or think a bit harder :D

Hope the bike isnt too damaged...I'm worried about bits of cork flaoting around though, if they absorb oil they could swell right?
