So Nero, how do you get it to work? or can it not do what I want?
I only want to copy a music CD to my computer as I don't have blank CD's to copy onto.

even on basic computers nowadays if you insert the cd it should come up with an option to copy it, but with nero definately, just mouse over the options and you should see it.

If you are using Windows you can just rip the CD using Media Player.
