Did anyone read to the end of the article? Prosecuting cop was busted posting photos of himself on his police bike on a swingers site!

ask mr copper ever done a CBT? first thing your taught (or atleast i was) "no matter what you ride for yourself, do not do anything to put someone else in danger, if its safe for you its do it, not follow someone blindly. If theres a gap at a junction your pulling out of big enough for you but not the group you take it and re group before your next turning."

so if you follow your first ever lesson and someone behind you speeds after getting separated your getting done?

What a load of tosh.

Simple rules then.

1. If you see the leader of the group being pulled over, don't stop.

2. If you're leading a group, as pointed out above, "what group officer?"

Re: The End For Rideouts?

I think this is referring to cases where the lead rider themselves is speeding

Ken Clark, 49, reached 85mph on his Yamaha R1 while leading a group of three riders
Quote:

Although his was the lesser speed, [the bench] found it an aggravating feature that he was the lead motorcyclist, was setting the pace and he knew that the other two motorcyclists would want to catch him up and would be speeding to do so.

They make a fair point about the back always playing catch up. But the front man has not control over anyone else. There must be more to this ruling than has been printed.

Bollox, unless they introduce a new offence of inciting others to speed, and even then it would be nigh on impossible to prove that the guy behind twisted the throttle harder as a result of your actions.

I'm sure the authorities love MCN, they only need to "leak some info" and the next weekend ride-outs all over the country slow down on the basis of some impossible to implement rumour. Six months down the line it becomes urban fact (sorry or is that urban myth?) that you get a harsher penalty if your at the front 'cos some bloke in the pub read all about the "new law" in MCN.
