For one of Londons oldest pubs visit the labyrinthine Old Cheshire Cheese in Fleet Street.

run by a very old friend of mine, or at least it used to be:- Dermot and Vera Mccaan, and their daughter Fiona.

Not how early brekkie will be, have to get down there from HX, but we will be setting off early from here to get as far as possible avoiding traffic, as we're in the cage.

This really was a lot of fun last year, but not cheap. They had all kinds of loverly yummy bratwursts and weisswursts and hot spiced wine drinks of all types. Prepare to eat and drink lots if you go!

Oh i so am! But there was a mini funfair there and as i said above lots of yummy stuff to eat and drink. h and an outdoor ice skating rink too which was lots of fun. I may not be into crimbo but that dont mean i dont like to be out doing "wintery" type things :)

And DIzzy, the fact you are settning out early that morning means you wont be at the Ace too early so i should have no problem getting there. Dont listen to this lot going on about me and hating to get out of bed, they all just know me too well is all. Errrm, i mean. Oh dammit!

I went to the Winter Wonderland. Did the big wheel, and as we were the only 2 people on it the staff went on their break and forgot about us. After 40 minutes I had to hit the emergency alarm to ask them to get us down! :smt105

The ice rink at the Natural History Museum looked very pretty last night.

Time Out on line has loads of info about what is going on, including all the Christmas Markets.

We reckon on to get down to the Ace about 10am.
shhhhhh but someone says the poofwagon will be fixed for us by Friday :-)

The WinterWonderland Market looks brill. Really up my street, as I have German roots so I'll be getting something from home for my gran...plus beer only a walk away from the hotel :-) So we'll be heading there for the evening.

Its this saturday right? And what sort of time do you plan to get there for?

I managed to get to the Ace for the toy run with a mild hangover for 11am and since i dont plan to be out drinking this friday, well nothing more than coffee at soho anyway, i should be able to be there even earlier.

Be good to see you guys :)
