I remember! That was also the one I recovered from Sutton town centre after it broke down when a certain naughty boy was riding it without restrictors, wasn't it?:D Nice to hear from you, & to see you've got a proper bike at last.

It's ok Lucas, you've no need to bring any cakes. We'll just send you down to the bakery:D

Give me a call Cbay, we'll sort it.

Sorry about the rubber tyres Matt. I'll get you some Cheng Shin Ditchfinders next time! :-)

Cheers.

Thats the one, yep. I had quite a few reliability issues with it and gave up after a while, then got the SV. a year later, 16000 miles, 2 holidays and a bunch of trackdays and i've never looked back.
Good to see you are doing well down south, its a good job I know what im doing fixing bikes now!

Pimping Spannerman

Like the title suggests, go see Spannerman if you need work done!

I've had a weird front end wobble from my SV for a while now that's been hard to identify. Popped it along to Essential Rubber, who used to be highly recommended on here (not so sure they're worth it any more) and they told me it was worn fork bushes, which seemed rather suspect as a diagnosis.

Took it to Spannerman for a second opinion and got to watch a very thorough examination of my bike that identified loose head bearings which were bone dry too. Much cheaper and easier to repair than claiming worn fork bushes on a bike with only 28,000 miles on it.

Great service, very friendly and approachable and they really know their stuff. Free tea, ringside seat and bad jokes abound - check them out if you're in the area!
