Re: How did you pay for your bike?

I had the cash for mine, as I don't like having loans, but they were doing a 0% finance deal and using that would improve my credit rating (which suffers if you've no loans), so I took the finance option. Put £1 down.

I did half and half. £2k cash rest on finance as I wanted something I needed to pay monthly to boost my credit score.

Well, i paid the £4k on my credit card to get the air miles then paid it off out my account.
Also saved carrying cash or cheque around and cos i paid it off straight away, no interest, just lovely air miles:D.

but they're clawing the money back off you somewhere, either in the price or servicing......... nothing is free!!

Re: How did you pay for your bike?

SV = Credit Card (which hung around a bit too long)
R6 = Cash + 0% credit card over 12 months (which I managed!)
DR350 = Cash
Daytona 675 = Cash
Gas Gas 400 = Cash

Any future bike will also be bought outright.

Re: How did you pay for your bike?

I buy everything with cash or bank transfer, after Uni I hated being in debt and out of control. I'd only use finance/loan if I needed a vehicle for getting to/from work but haven't been in this situation yet.

Everything else I do I have the cash for, or don't do it (excluding housing!!). This way I have no debts hanging over me, and I don't end up buying more expensive things/versions that I don't need for only 50 quid extra a month. Save to enjoy, you spend less in the long run and can do more :)

I put finance, wideboy I agree nothing is free however I got a 0% rate with a deposite and no last big payment. Servicing is some thing which needs to be done so cash card credit doesnt matter. Ooo did I mention I got 1000 off retail. I feel I got the best pssible deal when buying a new bike.
