Re: legality of ramming people?

i had this once when i lived in a flat in plymouth with my works van, i used to park it in the road opposite my flat in a weekday only permit zone at the wknd so i could keep an eye on it, but the people in the houses didnt like it and used to leave snotty notes on the windscreen, then one wknd whilst eating my brekkie and looking out the window i saw that the cars parked in front and behind had moved inches from my bumper, WTF! so i rang the police (not 999) they came out within an hour but said one of the cars was registerd up the line and couldn't contact the owner although i told them where they lived:smt102 they said they would watch me out of the space, i said if i touch either car then i was not responsible...... anyway i got out of the space austin powers style! parked up in the next street and went back to my flat and watched the police from my window (i am a nosey neighbour) another police car turned up and someone took a picture of the car belonging to the girlfriend of the prat who blocked me in..... then stuck a fixed penlty notice to her windscreen...... she had "show plates" on her car ha ha ha :smt043never any probs after that,

But you should be able to call the police & say you've been illegally obstructed, surely?

Ring a mate with a land rover and drag the bugger half a mile.

If you wantonly damage someone else's vehicle you'll probably end up in court, or at the very least end up with a claim on your insurance.

Start by taking a photo showing how they've blocked you in, just in case they decide to call the police.

Then get a couple of friends and a trolley jack. Most people only apply the handbrake so jack the back wheels up and you can move a car wherever you like. Favourites include between two trees with 6" clearance at either end.

Under no circumstances should you be tempted to spray brake fluid on repeat offending vehicles, they may not do it again but it would be illegal...........................

Re: legality of ramming people?

buy yourself 4 trolley jacks and find two big guys, jack each wheel up and the three off you push the car out the way, lower the car and your out, then also if the owner comes back the bigs guys can make sure they dont hurt you :D

or call a the police to tow them for parking on double yellows.

EDIT: keith you only beat me because i opening this before i went to eat, i would spoil your fun with my parking in gear with handbrake.

Re: legality of ramming people?

If it's rear wheel drive car leaving it in gear doesn't help. For a front wheel drive car you only need to lift one wheel, the diff will allow the other one to turn though it's hard work pushing it.

I'm reliably informed it's also possible to park a mini sideways across a footpath, though you need several drunks to lift all four wheels and get it in between the two 6' high walls. 8-[

You could always ring a mate up and have them come round and park a couple of inches the other side of the offending vehicle. Alternatively if you don't mind spending a few quid a one ton bag of sand delivered does quite a good job!
