I know what you mean, Theres some sections like that around me and I have been into Devon lots. It can be off putting but its all about how you approach it. Positive mental attitude, if you think you are going to not mange it, you'll end up doing just that.

Ride at a speed you feel comfortable with, if that means you hold up traffic, who cares.

Stick your bike in a low gear, and use that engine braking to control your speed. Dont load it up on the front brake, its makes it pitch and wallow, if you want to slow a little more use the back brake. If you feel like you are stalling then slip the clutch and drag the back brake and keep the revs up.

Look where you want to go, look at the apex or exit of the corner, and dont look at the drop or the tree or the post or the telegraph pole at the edge of it.

The only way to conquer how you feel is to go out and ride those roads that you are afraid of riding.

Ok cool. I'm going to work out a route (not necessarily in this order) taking in the following:

Pirbright twisties
Downside Road
Zig Zag road
and that road that Stu pointed out..
and somewhere to stop for a coffee to calm me down afterward and then see if I still like the idea of riding in Devon after that :D

Anyone got any more suggestions for good windy roads/hills etc?

Saturday afternoon's looking good... 16 degrees & sunny :D
Post a time and starting point and you may have some company.

All good advice except - you should be looking at the limit point.

If your coming to Pirbright count me in, I live on the twistes so we could meet at mine?

I can't do Saturday though as I am riding to Folkestone all day.
