Re: Suspension help

I beleive I weigh around 65kg and I have .8's in mine (Carl, can you confirm that is what came out of the bucket and into mine?)

I also have 15wt oil in it (Chris, can you confirm that).

Heh, hopefully I'm right with that but if I'm not someone will correct me!

Check the shock anyway mate, I think mine died at 13k miles which is pretty rubbish, it's not likely your has at low mileage but all it takes is a bit of duff chrome or something. Easy to check and eliminate.

Re: Suspension help

Mine has less than 6k miles on it and the rear suspension is noticeably crap; underdamped and soft. The shock is visibly rusty and will be heading to the nearest bin as soon as I can refit my forks (waiting for paint to harden on the alloy lowers).

A friends bike with 15k miles on it and a standard shock feels much better to ride. They are clearly built to a very low budget so it's quite likely the QC on these budget parts is not up to normal Jap standards.

I would change the rear shock at some point if you planning on keeping the bike and a few miles

Hm a lot to think about i have just gave the bike a good clean the rear shock looks perfectly fine with no corrosion i will keep the bike standard for now and think about changing the setup in the winter.
