Old racing saying "To finish first, first you have to finish"

Lorenzo deserves his championship as much as any other racer who has ever won one. He has consistently scored points at every round and been a top three finisher on numerous occasions. Regardless of the man's social inadequacies, he's raced well and scored the most points. Pedrosa on the other hand is a sawn-off characterless dago nonce who I hope never wins the MotoGP title. I've been upset on the two occasions he's come second in the championship standings

Yeah - he scored consistently and well, and didn't hurl himself at the scenery. I think he's an arrogant little tosser, but he did the best this year.

agree with all of the above

specially the highlighted bit

the other question is how much does lorenzos champion status owe to rossi.

Alot, Rossi is one of the best riders to work on an develop a bike, especially with Jerry Burgess alongside him. We'll see next year if Lorenzo and Yamaha can carry that on.

I'd agree about Rossi being hot property, but history wont rate these riders on amount of Merchandise sold over time. It'll only record wins and championships.

i feel sorry for pedrosa. cant be easy working repsol honda. stoner has little international support at the present, lets see what happens when he clocks in there monday morning. i'd like to see de puniet get a class ride personaly.
the problem i see on the horizon is marques on the 125's. just as jorge's moving on up pops another spaniard straight from the mould.

I like Nicky Hayden and did think him a worthy champ.

Pedrosa has been a champ in waiting for a while now...and I do feel that his carriage is going to turn into a pumpkin pretty soon.

Rossi IS MotoGP...he sells the tickets and you buy his t-shirt...something Ducati knows and Yamaha forgets.

I like Stoner because the bike doesn't need to be anything like perfect and he will ride around it, he calls a spade a spade and he doesn't pander to the press or being PC.

I dont understand how you can say Lorenzo is arrogant on what basis is this view, was it because he dared to beat Rossi to be a World Champion, is this the reason why there are Stoner haters too?

Someone needs to give Randy De Puniet a decent ride he has deffo earned it.

He was a cocky and arrogant when he was on a 250, both on track and off. I think thats why alot of people dont like him. I think he isnt the same now and he's grown up alot.

I also think we have seen Lorenzo mature.

Those bad crashes were enough to chip the rough edges.

He deserves the title.

Really! He just comes across as a whingy git. The fact that he kept falling off throught the season on a bike that wouldnt go round corners..etc etc, yet his team mate always seemed to finish. I think that there was a rider machine defect this season. As for Stoner, to much of a whingy colonial for me
