I think tyres all depend on your riding and where you are the ones on my bike dont feel all that good, infact they feel slippery as anything in the wet (BT021's).
I'm tempted to get some Avons come next tyre replacement to see how much better they are on local roads.

Ive got Michelin Pilot Power 2CT on mine, works lovely dry and wet, the softer compund on the edges works great too, had them Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsas on before that, overkill grip for a naked 04 model i dont race/track?? Meh they never budged on the road, and were free so pretty awesome!!

Got a mate who swears by the Michelin Power Pures, their new one thats 2lbs lighter and is dual compound, etc. i was tempted by them but thought ill save that for when i need a new tyre for the summer

D_A Michelins may have worked for you, they certainly didn't work for me! Normally I'm a fan of the froggy rubber but fitting Pilot Pures on my Minitwin to race at the Manx GP I was sliding at every corner and nearly lost the front going into Ballacraine. I took them off and fitted Supercorsas, perfect and no underwear changes required.

Now I wouldn't recommend fitting Supercorsas for the road, they are virtually slicks, but the episode did put me off Michelins a bit. Perhaps at more conventional speed the dual compound technology is more suitable, but I'd say think twice if you are going to be doing mainly "spirited" leisure riding and maybe the odd trackday ;)

Fair point to you then, well done for keeping the bike out the kitty litter. I had the Supercorsa for a bit, got it off my old mans race bike as part worn for road use, he was replacing it and I desperatly needed a tyre. Brilliant rubber, even though they have practically no tread, I used them through the summer, even in the rain, more because I had to, its my only form of transport, that or the push bike. I havnt used them on track though, I know the Supercorsas are hugely popular for track/racers, wandering around the paddock you see a lot of them. But that tyre took a lot of use on the road, took me through a few thousand miles, sunday/day off/evening/long way home from work blasting, commuting, even a little bit of touring aswell.

But Michelins, I've had on the road and theyve been great, I think the dual compunds are designed more for the road than for track use, but the odd track day wouldnt harm them, just wear away your right side a bit quicker :P
Most modern tyres should be ok for your day to day riding. But if youre going to go out and blast your way through the english countryside when the sun decides to show its face, the dual compound is a good way to go round this time of year, the sides heat up quicker due to it being softer so even in the wet I have nice warm tyres.

Pirelli Diablo Strada`s worked well on the sv for me untill you really get used to the bike and push hard.5,000 out of a rear and about 6,000 out of a front.Ok in the wet and good in the cold with great feedback and predictable slides when the mood induces one. Also they wear well keeping their profile to the end at the rear although the front does go uneven towards the end of its life.
I am currently running my first pair of metzeler M3`s and in the wet they are outstanding imho and great grip anytime with good feedback, also work well in the cold.
The metzelers do not seem to over heat the front tyre as much as the diablo`s which is why i changed but you need to go a long way to make the front fold on the Strada`s.Mileage looks like it will be about 3,000 and the profile looks good atmo.
Storms were ok but I found the front took too long to heat up.
The first incarnation of road attacks was way to soft on the rear and they square off way too soon.

PS: I am riding in Scotland too

+1=D> I run them on all my road bikes and they're great both dry and wet!!

Pilot Pures are ****!!! Don't touch em. They're the worse tyre to come out of the Micelin Factory for a long time...

Actually went for pirelli angel st were a bit more expensive than some of the sport tyres (190 +fitting) but should last a lot longer not had them long but happy with the grip and handling so far

Hi mate I've been using some bridgestone bt023 good in all weathers also used on two track days they are really good. Got some doable supercorsa's on at min which i was doing track days on. Holly cow they are bad in the wet and cold putting bt023 back on for winter.
