I have the 4.6 Ah one. These are pretty expensive though, but can be balanced. Some say balancing the cell inside is necessary 3 or so times a year to keep them in top shape (in which case you need these and a suitable charger) and some say you don't. The ones that can't be balanced are cheaper, but have no link for those.

You can also make them yourself pretty cheap, by fiddling around with a certain type of black&decker batteries, but that was a bit too complicated for me. All a bit off-topic though.

Different world, there is still probably a kilo saving even going from small lead acid to the a123 cells

I can see the appeal of doing that for weight saving.
Whats the lifespan of Li-ion batteries under the motorcycle loads

Re: Time to think rear shock change

They are not Li ion... they are lithium ferrous... different entirely.

No idea about lifespan, have not heard of one failing yet.

Cheers people (excluding Mav ;)),
I miss read the chart , so a zx10r or 6r (636) would be the best options for length (I'm 6'2" so a bit of a height lift would be ok) and stiffness for my weight.
Great.
Apart from ebay, does anyone have a good source for these shocks i.e. a reliably breakers yard or particular form to look in to?
Cheers,
Richard.
