Re: Helmet Colour
I have a matt white helmet, ok it has a china blue pattern, but non the less its matt white. Everything and anything makes it filthy and grubby looking, it needs to be scrubbed regularly to get black marks off it(which I have no idea where they come from, as they look like its been rolled on black rubber)
Gloss white helmets are ok, the ex had a Craft pure white one, and it always looked like someone had snotted over it, as it really shows up dead flies in summer, as did the identical one in black. On the whole a white helmet can be noticed more, I can see Pegs Shoei bobbing around in dense traffic on a dark night. I can't with his black one. |

Sorreeeee couldn't resist[/QUOTE] i was just about to do the same. back on subject, i personally wouldnt consider a black helmet as its just not visable, i like to stand out so the muppets in cages see me. i have been looking at a white one with graphics on it. i say best to be seen |

This is my personal hat;
http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...6o6YvQAogKFBth Looks good, and is good value for money as the XR1100 has replaced it. Other hat; http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k.../Ponderosa.jpg Pete ;) |
Re: Helmet Colour
I always have a plain white lid, not only are they more noticable, but I generally think most of the patterned ones are vile - replica race ones more so.
Another benefit is that a plain lid is usually rather cheaper, for example an Arai Chaser in plain colours is typically between £50 and £70 less than the patterned ones. I wouldn't buy a satin or matt finish lid, they look great when new but pick up every mark and the finish is nowhere near as durable. |
Re: Which helmet colour?
I have a mutli coloured helmet, it's a fairly plain design, just stripes of different colours. I would always want to have a bright helmet, be it white or multicoloured as I think it helps with visibility factors. Would never have a plain black...or at least I say that now!

Re: Which helmet colour?
if your looking at the quest have to say im fairly partial to the
http://www.shoei-europe.com/upload/m...loodflow_m.jpg though atm i use this xr1100. theyre pricy but.. its not something you want made cheaply, these are especially good for summer since the vents are amazingly effective http://www.shoei-europe.com/upload/m...coquista_m.jpg nice to know about the matt black though, i was sorely tempted by them but if they mark as easily as you say then perhaps its not ideal. |
