I'm with Phil on this.
The bike was stolen while you were visiting someone ;)
As for salvage, the rental sticker looks ok...

On a serious note, the engine itself would run I'd bet with new ancillaries, from the pic that can would clean up as well.

Yeah engine looks fine. Be careful as some burnt plastic residues can be very very nasty if you do end up playing about with it.

thanks for all the message of support, bike was worth £1400 approx market value but luckily i managed to buy it for £700 2 months ago so it not a huge loss in the grand scale of things. So basically i am down £700 notes and quite a bit of wasted time making it look nice and shiny in the first photo. Gonna go strip it down today and maybe get £150 for the can and maybe £50 for the rear rim if its ok?

gutted looking back how much fun i had on the bike in the 2 months i owned it.

Pretty sure i am not gonna claim as it not worth if personally money wise after paying the excess and its not worth banging up everyone else's insurance costs. Just gonna take it as a hit.

Maybe if the bike had been locked up it might not have happened, but you cant protect against everything. The bike could have been stolen using force when parked at traffic lights so there is no point in looking back, whats done is done.

Personally I would still claim, but that's your decision.

Maybe look for a donor bike, cat d or something and rebuild it.

Good luck anyway dude, sick *******s will get it one day, karma and all that.

I seriously like your thinking on the rebuild from a cat d, might make it so it passes the MOT but still looks like its just been on fire . Now that would be a cool looking bike to turn up to the bike meet on. I did not declare the arrow can to the insurance and it was parked outside with no security and was/had just been used my bro who was riding it TP only so not gonna claim. Probably to late to in form insurance now as its been over 24 hours.
