Well its not as if hes the romantic type to treat you to anything Valentinish anyway:p
Same for us, I seem to recall *amongst a bit of snoring* last night someone whispering in my ear...''Happy Valentines day love'' with the reply from me of ''gerrroff yer squashing me elbow'' hehehe:p

After this thread was posted I was treated to a cup of tea and a biscuit...YC shooed me out of the room with a gleeful look in his eye...brought in a brew, a biscuit and a lighter, he then proceeded to light the candle on the table. THAT was his contribution LOL. You never know, in a few years I might have flowers, choc or EVEN a meal out! He is advancing it is true, it's taken 5 years to get this far :-D

People in stable loving relationships don't need a special day dreamed up for a commercial reason, that's for people who have only recently got together IMO.

I'm not the most romantic as you can probably tell :)

got it spot on. although it still causes chaos in recently fledged relationships...how much money should you spend, what if he/she doesn't think it's enough etc etc etc. It just gets out of hand and makes people expect too much when just having the love of someone should be enough. Little gifts given randomly throughout the year are received much better than that forced bunch of roses and stressfully booked meal cos everywhere is filled to bursting. NOT that I'm saying you shouldn't enjoy your day, get on with it if you must :-P

I never got a bunch of flowers ever in my previous relationship....I always said if I did, I'd think he was feeling guilty or upto something. I did however always get a card on Valentines Day, which was always appreciated.
These days I get random bunches of flowers brought home with a tin of beans and a pint of milk....just because Peg felt like it:mrgreen: Theres no need for cards on Valentines Day....cause he loves me enough all year round with his total acts of randomness:smt040
