Re: My first off - what to check over

I had a similar off, on the roundabout, in the rain, near a petrol station. Now I ride like a granny in the rain, and think I'm going to lose it on every bend, it's really affected me mentally, annoying. I'd just bought it, and the tyes were Avon's, had no idea how long they'd been on. I know have Bt-023 tyres front and rear, still doesn't make me feel better in the wet. I'd advice you to assess your tyres, if they've been on a while. I've heard, that if tyres have been on for years (bikes that aren't used much) the rubber goes hard and doesn't perform as it should.

oh bugger fruity....after playing in all that rain on Saturday too!

Ahh well, seems you're all fine which is good :)
DTs advice works, bet those Gladys levers are spensive, I'm asuming they're a bit thin on the ground.

leverwise there are the cheap pazzo's, on ebay (do a search), or get some cheap patterns from wemoto (http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Suzuki/S...S_AND_CONTROLS) double check your model - sure mine were £7 each. Or do as dicky says.
Assuming it's rideable, but if you're desperate for the levers for work or whatever just say mate and I can pop over I have a set of pazzos or a set of aftermarkets from the sv (would guess they're the same).

Thanks all.

Caz - Apart from my side (pulled a muscle or two saving the bike from slamming into the tarmac) I'm fine and although my knee and ankle are sore but I've no bruises so far :smt023

DT - I bent it like Beckham & it seems fine for now, thanks for the advice :notworthy:

AS / Dave188188 - When I can afford it I think I'll invest in a pair ;)

Diz - Tell me about it! Hours in the tipping down rain round those bends & a ten min shower floored me

Muz & Mick - My Mrs had her only off at a petrol station roundabout :smt120

If only I'd flattened the end can, I could have justified splashing some cash :D
