Just popes round my local painter and he said it will need a complete respray :(
My sprayer didn't do a full respray, even where one bit was down to the primer.

Get someone else to check it out

Oh sweet how much did yours cost if you don't minde me asking as I got quoted 170 if I just take the bike to them and 130 if I just take them the tank

it does not need a re-spray. try phoning one of those mobile scratch repair people.

Wow thats nuts, what year SV is it? I have a K3 in blue and recently removed my warning sticker from the tank with careful use of my heat gun and it only left crappy sticky residue behind, sorted that with WD40 and finished off with some T-Cut Scratch remover with nano technology. can't even tell it was there now. Did exactly the same on the warning sticker on the right side of the front fairing too. They now look great.

It's a k6 but the tank and blue bits are of a k4 bike as I wanted it blue and it was cheaper just to buy the blue bits but yeah thanks for the help anyone got a number for one of the mobile scratch repair people?

have you checked to see if the paint under the sticker has lacquer on it?

if it has it might just be a case of rubbing down with some 1200 wet'n'dry with lots of water then cut using G3.

if you key in the area and mask the rest of the tank you could use petrol resistant lacquer, ive done this a few times for things just like this. with a bit of cutting compound you could smooth it all down, cost you about 10 quid i should think....maybe worth a go!

Will this only work if there is some lacqure under where the sticker was as I don't want to key the blue paint do i?

just a very light sand with a 1200 grit would be my choice, worked OK on my GSXR tank. make sure you clean it properly after a sanding,

Can't remember exactly, but no where near what your guy quoted.

He just blew a little paint into the bit where it had gone through to the primer and then laquered over the top.

Think I had the undertray & set infils done at the same time for just over £100
