We're not in "days gone by" now though are we? We're in the here and now, with the technology and skills to help improve the quality of life of babies and children. Why should they just "hope for the best" when there are ways and means to improve the situation?

I dont think they were trying to "perfect" their child, they were trying to give it a decent chance at some sort of survival with a quality of life.

I dont know what I'd do in that situation, but they did what they felt was right for them.

Nostrils, your sister sounds amazing. May her memory be cherished amongst you forever more.

Hence why reference to technology was referred to in the rest of that sentence:rolleyes:

I'm sure in your profession, you perhaps see many heart wrenching decisions made by couples, or maybe not. Technology is a wonderful thing, I have benefitted from it twice...and between those times(ten years), its altered and gotten further.

Quite true, an inspirational story Nostrils, especially for us that think we have a hard life, when really we don't at all.

Thankyou for sharing something so personal Nostrils, very inspirational indeed, what a fighter your sister was. Amazing how people will bounce back no matter what life throws at them just through grit determination and the loving support of those around them.

Personal org'ans stories aside, it might be a good idea to look at this

Although partially true, the story has been added to somewhat, and isn't at all new
