Hey. look at it on the bright side, it was only a track day. Imagine if it had been your first race meeting! Besides, any track day where you spend the following night in your own bed is a good one.....

Well done. (looks for the sarcasm smiley)

At least you only nearly got other people hurt.

+1

Lolz! :p:p:p

My worst one was getting a puncture on lap 2 then having to sit out the rest of the day but i did get a "rebook" for the next trackday.

Oh and BTW fire your mechanic. Could be something serious falling off next time!

If I ever end up at a race meet with you please DON'T offer to help me out! lol I would have thrown my toys out of pram and kicked it on its side by dinner so well done one being so calm and carrying on. I was also there at the now 'legendary' Dave Preston ejector seat moment!!!I reckon it must have been at least 130mph during a two wheel drift? (sorry bud)

You're telling me you hadn't done it on purpose just to give us a laugh? Shame on you Dave. I'd say must try harder but actually one off at 130mph on a rare bike is quite enough for one lifetime ;)

As for OP, bad luck indeed. Although as the others say, not exactly luck but unfortunate preparation, you definitely must try harder next time (to keep the bike in one piece =D>)

My mate hired a bike for Brands td. Second session he was getting used to the brakes and misjudged Druids. He rooled in to gravel rather than risk trying to take the corner as wasnt sure of the R6 handling and dropped it about 2mph. The brake lever twisted round a bit. He lost £500 deposit and the £450 paid for the day. Focused won't let you out again even for a minor off/run off with little to no damage. That sucked for such a minor error

Whats the point in a hire bike for track if it's to not to save risking your own bike? But a lever and a little gravel rash which would have cost £120 max for one side to paint, a lever £60 being a harsh price for one!!!!! How did they justify the whole deposit? And did he get to go out again afterwards on the day?

bad luck mate, try this for size. Rockingham earlier this year, group of us inc my mate on his R6 in inters with me, his missus on her first ever TD on his old CBR400 in novices. First session, he takes teh CBR out as it hasn't been ridden much, and will pass it straight to her in the pitlane for her session ,then ride the R6 after that. 2x sighting laps, green for go, jsut approaching Tarzan (less than 1 lap) and the red flags are out. WTF? Pulled in and yes it is a real stoppage. First fast lap and he's binned it half way round on 8 year old tyres the Flintstones would have been proud of. Broken collarbone and fingertip pointing very much the wrong way. Ouch.
