try wicked quotes mate, i didnt have to send anything off to them regarding my restriction. as all they said was "its a £2000 bike, regardless of the power, our payout will be the same, so it doesnt really make any odd's other than to your licence"

certificate of restriction is not a legal requirement! many garages make out it is to earn some extra cash.

Bennetts - aviod them when on a restricted licence, they make it look cheap then when you call they say. "We notice your meant to be restricted", they class it as a Modification & effects the bikes performace which they deem to be worthy of a £450 increase.

Ohh if you choose bennetts, Remove any un-factory fitted stickers. :)

slightly off topic. when i was insured with mce i never said my bike was restricted and they never asked (it wasn't, however i had the certificate).

yes i've heard this.. Yes my mate did need to supply any documents and insurance with MCE is dead cheap.. looking forward to getting the bike now :)

Find it cheap elsewhere, you can if you look. Even worth paying more to avoid them.

Absolutely do not go anywhere near MCE, at all costs. They can quote cheap because they do not add any of your requirements, then when you question them, they charge you for every change.

I took MCE to the Ombudsman and after a fight, was given a full refund, after the poo they pulled on me.

Avoid MCE!

Lexham Insurance do deal with restricted a lot. I was with them for the YBR and the first year on the SV.

If your really concerned about proving restriction, dyno run with a good firm will be max £50

Just make sure your SV insurer doesn't class the restrictor as a modification, when you are doing your information on the comparison webistes, it asks about modifications, look & check if a restriction is listed, if it is you will have to choose it. Or give the insurer a ring to confirm.

I just went with just motorcylce insurance . And that was on january 12th first insurance . My mate is on mce he pays £450 but that was before premiums went up . I pay £590 and thats with aa breakdown And legal protection . So instead of £650 excess is £150 excess as they cover up to £500. Thats also with 6000 miles a year on mine :) . Hope i helped . I didnt tell insurance companies about restrictor as if i crash (hope not) i will say its my legal requirement . And other guy sed . U shud Know its restricted by my age . I was looking for cheap insurance but not now it all went up. Urs shud be around same as mine. Depending on ur postcode
