Thanks. I've got 2L of pre-mixed castro coolant and 5 l of distilled water to flush the system with. Only thing i'm missing is the damn crush washer.

Tap water is fine to flush the old stuff out.

I've never had a problem reusing washer.

Hope so.

I had to re-use the washer when I changed the oil a few months ago and have had no issues. I've since picked up a handful of oil plug crush washers though just not the plug.

Hopefully can re-use if needed.

Unless the washer is obviously damaged whilst removing it, and it almost certainly won't be, you can re-use it. A hose pipe from the garden tap is what you need to flush the system - 5l of any fluid is nowhere near enough to do anything to clean it out.

The coolant plug washer is about 6-7mm ID, the oil drain washer is about twice that.

Be very very careful when refitting the plug - it's a steel bolt fitted into a thin light aluminium casting, don't overtighten it.

Well It's all done.

Changed the coolant and spark plugs. The coolant plug was fine and I reused the washer without any problems (yet!).

The bike has now doen 6456 miles and the spark plugs were not in a good state. They looked like they needed changing.

Only used about 1.4-1.5 litres of pre-mixed coolant to refill the system and the overflow tank.

Also managed to get a rounded nut off the hugger sorted and I also replaced some of the plastic lugs on the lower fairing and then went for a 60 min to make sure all is well.

I may even have a beer tonight!

Thanks for all the helpful comments.

Sorry? Did you miss a zero off there?

Lol. Nope.

I was surprised at how bad they looked but then again this is the first set of bike plugs I've seen so nothing to compare it to.
