Yeah, you should always crouch when doing pull ups as doing them in a standing position tends to make you sway and cheat

My home gym

Chin up bar
10kg dumbells
Sit up mat

I also have a 24" box for box jumps.

I do 4 high intensity circuits a week, a lot of chin ups/pull ups press ups squats etc etc etc

One circuit a week is all plyometric.

Also 1 sprint session and one 10k run a week.

Works for me.

I must admit that you can do a lot with only your body weight

Did you look on eBay first?

My sister got a multi gym off eBay for £100, admittedly not one that cost that much new but it's pretty good with all the attachments.

I just find gyms boring, used to be really into them in my younger days, 5 days a week x 3 hours a night for 6 months I did at one point.

Good place to meet girls too :)

Yeah I browsed eBay which in turn led me to discover fitness superstore which happen to have a local branch. Multi gyms are no good for me as I prefer proper weights and most home multi gyms lack the weight. I had to buy light commercial grade stuff, if you go to argos and but a york weight bench for 50quid, it will have some crappy weight limit like 100kg which is no good.

I train 5 time a week but only for ~45mins, 45mins is around the maximum time it is advised to work out with weights

I agree about over doing weights, I wasnt getting enough recovery time.

I used to hold my own against some big guys at the gym, which wasn't bad for a 17-18 year old :)

I disagree about some multi gyms, some have some good weights on them, unless you're going after a power lifting medal at the games it should be ok for most.

But, you get what you pay for generally.

Yeah i have, good look set up mate.

I have one of these aswell as a weights bench and punch bag, if you can get one its a must dip frame. The dips are awesome on these i love doing them. Just need to get a treadmill as the X-trainers gone.

Every bit of fitness equipment has its place but machines are to limiting for me, the movement is dictated by the machine action. For instance a smith machine for bench press will go up and down according to the machine mechanism which will no suit everyone's natural movement. Some multu gyms have good weight but unless you pay a fortune they ate designed for joe average. The flexibility of bats, dumbells and body weight is almost limitless where as a multigym is limited to its attachments.

I've use free weights for years on a semi seriouse basis and aching just don't come lose for me
