Its been a very serious idea for a very long time. We have been looking at all options for many many months.
We have come to a stage of needing to move, and whatever we do, we have to be doing it for the next twenty years, as our children are top of the agenda.
No matter what we look at here, theres not much change to the quality of life. We are currently not too well off, and are slowly correcting things in the house to make it marketable, as by the end of autumn we need to be either in the process of selling the house, or gone! The house is my biggest asset, as I have a very small mortgage, and a very large lump of equity, providing it goes for the right price.

You need to do whats right for you and the lads so hope it all goes well for you. One thing though if you move abroad will there be tea, cake and a *cough* free holiday for visitors ;)

There is but don't expect a great price. We looked into it when selling mum's place... they offered a 1/3 below market price.:(

Another yes to that. The couple across the road from us have it splattered over their car and the van is liveried up in their building/decorating/maitenance business. Realistically it is good for people who NEED to sell as opposed to WANT to, as the price paid reflects this. Worth a look though.

You should know that my door is open to everyone requiring cake and tea

I haven't a clue what is market price these days, last time it was valued was four years ago, and it was more of a shed than it is now!
