Re: Curvy cutting out at idle.
I will have the whole lot out and clean anyway, and i suppose it cant harm to have a new cable haha.
Because of the oddly hot weather we've had round here i havent used the choke for a long while, but when playing with it today, it wasnt always dis-engaging, as in i moved the choke lever to turn it off, and it wasnt turning off. Its mad to see how quick something can stop functioning correctly when it isnt used for a while! |
Re: Curvy cutting out at idle.
It may be the 1 into 2 split in the choke cable that is causing the problem, another common issue. I'm sure you will find out whe you get to everything. Good luck, and I hope you get it sorted.

Re: Curvy cutting out at idle.
Try taking it for a ride and either refuel when the light comes on or when firing of the engine becomes really bad.
Go to a petrol station used by many people but not the same one. Brand names are better than Tesco etc. You may find that this new tank of fuel fixes the problem, if it does put Redex for a carburetted car in the tank. Half a bottle is Ok in a nearly full tank of fuel. This will do quite a good job at cleaning the fuel system and may even clean the plungers enough to make them operate better if that is the problem. Sorry I've posted a under £5 possible solution to it! But I've had my curvy for over four years, that I have used all year round and I've been riding almost daily for 34 years! Not always totally rebuilding something on a bike is actually required, but I do agree with Sid it could be the plungers. But it seems that a 645 v-twin does not like dirty petrol at all. |
Re: Curvy cutting out at idle.
Thanks for the advice buddy.
I usually fill up at different petrol stations neraly every time i fill up, and have used Total, BP, Esso, Tesco, ASDA and Shell, so i would like to think im not unlucky enough to get bad petrol every time :( I will try a bit of redex though, for whatever reason i never even thought of a simple fix like that! :shock: Thanks again, to all that have replied! |

Redex = waste of time
