The first centrestand I encountered on my own was on a GL1800 too, albeit someone else's bike. What made it all the more entertaining was that the last time I'd used one was on the ER-5 I learnt on and the last time I used that (dropping the bike back to the riding school after passing my DAS test) resulted in me not putting it on the stand properly and as I walked away it rolled forwards off the stand and toppled over, bending the bars and smashing an indicator.
To say I was a 'little cautious' would be quite an understatement. I regularly put my F800GS up on a centrestand with one hand now. Like most bike tricks, "easy when you know how" I'm still not sure I'd try it with a Goldwing, mind! |
