Re: DRZ400 Wanted
You wouldn't wanna do long miles on one, the vibes at a steady 80 ish can get on your nerves after a while, especially with off road tyres on.
I absolutely love mine, so much fun. Btw, let's start a new thread in bike talk if we want to discuss the merits of the drz as we shouldn't really be doing it in this thread, I'll get shouted at by the other mods :) |
Re: DRZ400 Wanted
Yes, you are correct. They will never have the power to mix it with a sports bike in the right hands (or a bigger s.m.) but they are surprisingly punchy and nimble, especially if it has an upgraded carb. In terms of touring, they are amazingly surprising. Most people wouldn't give them a thought for that, but they are robust, easy to maintain and fix, very frugal on fuel and if you get a sore backside, they are much easier to stand-up on for a while than any bespoke tourer - and you can carry on when the road doesn't! Try that on a blackbird! I toured Norway and Sweden on my last one, a few years ago, without a complaint or problem. Mine didn't even have a larger tank, so I just strapped a plastic petrol can onto the tank with a cargo net and it worked a treat, giving an extra 70 miles or so.
Highly recommended. |
