As said above, the price is what they want for it, not what it's worth. items are priced above their worth so there is haggling room & more profit margin.
Same as PT6, 10% max is what you can achieve. I usually compare what i'm looking at to all adverts on the net-from the worst condition model to the best & lowest miles. this gives you an idea of what it is actually worth. By doing this I got my motorbike for £500 less than market value as the seller also needed a quick sale.
Find a seller/garage who is eager to sell, that way you will benefit more from the deal. don't be eager to buy and don't put all your cards on the table, be prepared to walk away if you don't get the deal you want.

Best way to find out what cars are actually selling for is to check the completed auctions on ebay.

Also never use part exchange, they will always give you less than you can get selling privately.
