No! When you get home, you need to get your V5 (registration document) and photo ID such as your driving licence and go to a local plate maker. Places like Halfords and things do them. This is assuming you are the registered keeper of the bike. Only the registered keeper can get plates, if you get legal ones that is!!!

you do know that you can phone the AA, RAC or breakdown services to relay the bike home. yes they will charge you a fair whack but i bet that the garage is going to do that.

ooohhh and its only £8.20 a month for breakdown cover. not much for piece of mind.

James you not have any b&b's around that area that might be able to put him up if he can't get home tonight?

Not yet, but great minds think alike - I was racking my brains last night in case we had any on the 'potentials' list that might've helped but just a wee bit too soon.

Time your disasters better next time, eh!?

Last news from battlefield: I came back to glasgow, everything is ok-thanks to Andy's Motorcycles in Stoke-On-Trent, they were really helpful and kind) They did everything and even the new number plate, so I`m very grateful to them and to everybody who was here and read&reply these posts! :)

mate stick a post in the 'good, bad and ugly' section of the forum (or even Bike Chat), I know it's not biker cafe related but any business which comes off the back of your misfortune is the biggest thanks you can give back to them :)
