Some of these suggestions are ridiculous! BLOODY RIDICULOUS!!! Drain oil into a clean container and then put back in?! RIDICULOUS!

Jambo's super-chilling technique has a scientific merit while the idea of changing it while popping a wheelie appeals to my deluded over confident adrenalin junkie side. Still favour the pop and swap for the simplicity and risk factor. I will film it!!! :D

When I did this:

I just put on a pair of marigolds, undid the plug carefully and thumbed the hole.
Lost a whiff of oil but nowt really.

Keep tightening it with your biggest breaker bar until you hear a crack and it suddenly gets looser

Get some dowty seals and you can reuse zillions of times.

So you'll never forget that ****in crush washer again and have to get yer sump rethreaded and it costing you a packet of kitkats/marafins.

Take the shed up in the space shuttle
Or drill a hole to the center of the earth and do it there.
Under weightless conditions the surface tension will keep all the oil in the engine.
