Hi Brettus. I don't know one end of a Camera from a sprocket, but my Mrs wants a half decent Camera and I guess you know what's what. I'll have a punt on it. You seem trustworthy ;-)

Nikon 1 is supposed to be good, but does not have a built in flash.

I'm a Canon man and would suggest the 1100D for starters with a kit lens to get you going.

When you are feeling more confident and are out of full auto mode then you can look at the more expensive 'glass'... Enjoy!
