Re: Mounting a smartphone for GPS use
Its only got the usb bit that needs sealing the two power pins are gold on phone.
I used 2 big rubber bands to hold it secure (With a lanyard on phone just incase). going to get a ram ball and glue it to another case to mount it better than just double sided tape Velcro stuff. Gloves might be an issue But voice commands work fine so none to bothered |
Re: Mounting a smartphone for GPS use
Can you plan routes and follow itn files with a smart phone? If not then I would reccomend a bike sat nav anway.
I bought a second hand TomTom Rider 2 and it's not perfect but a lot easier to use than a phone. |
Re: Mounting a smartphone for GPS use
Right,
Just came back from a ride to Whitby enjoying the Yorkshire Moors. Agreed I didn't have to much sun today, but I never missed a turn and it is perfect for me - It does take a bit of getting use to but it does more than the trick for me! Also tried a padded short to have a much comfortable ride and after almost 4 hours ride my bottom isn't sore! |
Re: Mounting a smartphone for GPS use
Are you able to lick your own bottom, that's a a neat trick.
Thought only cats & dogs could do that ;):p:smt082 |
