Should also note, Silverstone test at 3/4 maximum revs, not the usual 5500rpm.

Of course, you've got to fail a ride-by test before that happens, but it's a gamble.

At Silverstone the other day i thought i would do a static test
Had to get under 105db
The guy asked for 5500rpm and my noise was 104.9 with the db killer in

So all good for the time being
Might get the exhaust repacked again to help

I wouldn't be worried about top speed it's lap times that count slippystone inter is good track but not so much for a 650 your just flat out everywhere !

I was at Silverstone last year at days organised by the track themselves, and was at Cadwell last month with No Limits. Both required static noise tests, for mine it was at 50% revs but I don't know about an IL4. I've seen a lot of late-model stock Gixxers getting 102-104dB, dunno why, but as long as they were under 105 they were happy.

No Limits were okay, nothing outstanding. They managed to stay to time, and if you went for a long walk you could have free coffee.

Yep the 650 was fairly pushed as this is a track with a lot of fast sections, I found myself turning into the bend at the end of Hangar Straight in 5th as it's a long bend so it was just screaming in 4th by the exit. There are some faster bends though where you're still riding on your ability and not your horsepower. When the big bikes get on the straights then you know what will happen but I was in the inters then and I would say riding in the middle of the pack in terms of lap times - overtook a fair few but wasn't the fastest one out there.

Just booked
Unfortunately the inters were fully booked but a blast in the novice group will be fine
(I am not that good anyway)

Cool, look for a noisy blue SV in the pit garages. I've got a blue pickup but outside the garages will just be a sea of vans anyway.

There are a good few corners where I bet you aren't anywhere close to flat out ;-)

Before I went last year I had presumed I'd just get beaten up all day, but it wasn't like that. Also so what, there's a chance of actually hitting top speed (didn't), and it's a different experience from somewhere like Cadwell or Rockingham. On the International circuit (southern half) there is a chicane which I think i was doing in 3rd, and a tight-ish bend also in 3rd, maybe also the bend onto Hangar Straight (or 4th, dunno) but that was as slow as it got. Certainly nothing like riding on the road, which I can do every day.

SPARE PLACE - my mate has broken his hand yesterday (can you believe it) so I have a spare place in the Inters. You'll need to be quick as it's tomorrow so PM me now if you are up for it. Will sell place for half price i.e. £80.
